There are literally hundreds of these lists on the internet, most of them on youtube which makes you think, (well ok it makes me think…) Just what kind of research are modern day movie/tv show makers doing?
I’m thinking not enough. Because while I could find hundreds of clips and compilations, they all seem to be about the same films! Do we really only have 20 memory allocation worthy love scenes out there? (And Spot most of those hundreds of clips consist of Bollywood movies! *Smirks*)
Anyway back to my point — which is in there somewhere — I thought I would make a list of the best/hottest/juiciest kisses, or love scenes in movies and television. I’m not going to make them a count down best to worst or vise versa I don’t have the patience for that. It’s just a list of really cool scenes.
1. Presidio 1988. Mark Harmon, Meg Ryan (Sean Connery was in the movie but… who noticed :P) The love scene in that is just this side of indecent (in a good way)… and the movie is really good too.
2. Tequila Sunrise 1988 Mel Gibson, Michelle Pfiefer. (seems to have been the year for it… kind of like good wine). Say what you like about him now (crazy old guy) but Mel gave the best love scene’s! But then what leading lady would not want to be pressed naked against him for hours on end? (Back then, now I don’t think his Chihuahua wants to be in the same zip code.)
3. The Notebook 2004 Ryan Gosling, Rachel MacAdams. (I know a whole truck load of other people acted in all these movies but I am not going to go look them all up)
You just know the movie is going to have an awesome love scene when the cover is hotter than hot.
4. The Mummy, 1999 and The Mummy Returns. Brendan Fraser, Rache Weisz
Two words Brendan Fraser! Need I say more? Ok I know its a horror, but there is just such a sweet tenderness in how Rick is with Eve, there is this deep caring and respect but also an I-want-my-hands-all-over-you sort of undercurrent.
5. Still Breathing 1997 Brendan Fraser, Joana Going,
IMO the hottest non-sex scene ever, when he starts talking about the chocolate I just want to take a bite out of him. The music is incredibly sexy too.
6. An Officer and a Gentleman. 1982 Richard Gere, Debra Winger.
Ok I admit I added this one because its suppose to be a great love story and that bit where he carries her out at the end is cute… but… personally I think Richard Gere is just a little too pleased with himself to ever pull of a good loves scene or story, sadly while I think Keanu Reeves is close to godhood in looks, he’s another one I seldom buy as madly in love with someone other than himself. I’m sure I’m just being a mean old bitch here and both men are wonderfully warm fuzzies, but…
OMG I think if anyone ever kissed me like that I’d evaporate so all that’s left of me is a wet spot on the wall with a tongue hanging out of it!!
8. Becoming Jane 2007. Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy
The whole film made me sad from the beginning mostly because I'm a huge Jane Austin fan and I know she never married so the ending was inevitable but still some lovely moments.
9. Bridget Jones Diary 2001. Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth
I’m very slutty on this movie, I love Bridget with Daniel and that end kiss with Mark… well, lucky lucky Renee.
And that is all I can think of right now, I have spent far more time on this than I should have and at the cost of a very juicy love scene in my own writing. (Sorry spot hehe.)
