Ships of the past

Spannah?? OMG I love it!! Awesome pic of DD and GA btw.

Yes they do like to play with the shippers, the thinking seems to be the longer they keep us on the edge of our seats and complaining the longer they have our interest. Seriously? Am I 2?

What about all the juicy stuff that happens after the happy ever after event? There are enough things thrown at couples once the honeymoon is over (or even during the honeymoon) to keep us shippers on our toes, why no one has the courage to give that a shot I really don’t understand.

However, despite all our bitching and moaning, I have to admit that so far its been a wild and fun ride, (all except for Spannah, there I agree with D, the writers ripped Booth’s character apart and not in a good way) we do keep coming back for a few moments of ecstasy or agony, whichever the case may be.
Which is more than I can say for the messes of the past. There are show’s that I will never buy the DVD for, and producer/directors I will go out of my way to avoid watching in the future.

Am I vindictive? Hell yes!!

So lets take a walk down memory lane, and visit ships of the past. Hmmm … first ship ever? I think I would have to say Archie and Betty, ok technically not a series but back in those days comic’s were our television. I never could understand what he saw in Veronica.

The earliest TV ship I remember is Hotel, Peter and Christine, the perfect couple.

Then there was of course Moonlighting, I actually broke the chair I was sitting on from bouncing when “the scene” came on. Hot hot hot, I thought it was the best television at the time and I watch my DVD box set on that over and over.
Remington Steel, who would not ship Pierce Brosnan? Heck if he acted with a sack of potatoes I’d ship them! He’s just too delicious, even now a few years on and a little salt in the hair he’s still the one I wanted Merryl Streep to end up with in Mama Mia! (See I even ship Movies, how obsessed is that.)

After that, there was a very long time I didn’t ship much of anything, television became a whole bunch of lone ranger types driving or flying around with super duper modern AI machines and I may be a crazy shipper but even I drew the line at man and machine.

In the mean time my sisters A and D were going banana’s over X file. I never really got into that, but I remember Monday nights (X files night) were holy and should never be interrupted with telephone calls unless blood and near death was involved.
My next ship was Star Trek Voyager!! OMG were we obsessed I still have all of the VHS cassettes.

So many ships to choose from, so much potential. I shipped Chakotay /Janeway, my sister shipped Belana/Paris, but we both secretly ..and not so secretly thought Chakotay/Belana were the best match.

What did the writers give us? It still makes me nauseous just to say it… Chakotay and Seven?? WTF??

Who came up with that and has that person been sent to rehab? And y’all are wondering why Enterprise failed?

Then came probably the only ship neither of my sister joined me on. Buffy the Vampire Slayer…

I am ashamed to say I was a very slutty shipper on that one, I shipped Buffy/Angel, then I shipped Buffy/Spike and then when Angel came on I went completely off the rails and shipped Angel/Spike. A very confusing time for me. I think I OD’d on all things ship for a while.

But come on how cute are they all? Who can resist? *Sigh* Even looking at the picture now I can’t resist a little wishing…. Perhaps a nice dirty little orgy? Man I would so break a chair again for that! LOL

So many ships so little time!
