You're a shipper? But, why?

All good ships Pet!  I also always wanted Archie to finally wake up and realise that Veronica was a total bitch and that Betty was the one for him.  However, I cannot get onboard with the Angel/Spike ship.....  eew!  But, was that not the first „slash“ ship?  Would be interesting to know.

You forgot one of my faves!  Michaela and Sully from Dr. Quinn!  That was a ship that worked!  They met in season 1, fell in love and got married – and still managed a further 3 seasons of the show!

One that was working, but they fucked up (for reasons I simply cannot fathom) was Gilmore Girls!  Luke and Lorelai were doing swell, until ‘they’ decided to bring in the daughter-Luke-knew-nothing-about, causing him to postpone the wedding and good ol’Lorelai to go bang Christopher!  Yes, they did get them together again in the end, but by then I had stopped watching!  But, how cool was the “will you just stand still” moment of season 4’s final?
And!  I cannot believe you forgot the Scarecrow!!!  Sweet!  Of course, the whole “secret marriage” was a bit of a stretch – the relationship was cute nonetheless!

As for Mulder and Scully: well that was one of the highlights of my shipper life!  X-Files Mondays were so important to A and I – not only for the paranormal, or monster of the week, the conspiracy (before the super soldier), but also for those “staring at the mouth” moments between our favourite agents.  I wanted to BE Scully!  I wanted to kick ass, do Mulder and run in high heels!  But, more importantly, I wanted to be taken away, even if just for 45 minutes, from real life.

Which is essentially the reason why we ship, is it not?  Day to day life is so full of real problems, issues that tie your stomach in knots and render your nights sleepless!  It’s amazing how a simple moment between your current ship couple can make your heart go pitter-patter and give you a reason to smile.  It distracts you from your troubles – does not solve them, does not suddenly give you the answers - but it does make you forget.  Even if only for a little while.  You get engrossed in the case, you try and guess whodunit, and you concentrate on any interaction between your favourite pair – and when there is a moment, you smile, laugh, clap or break your lay-z-boy (right Pet?).  It helps – and this week, I am so hoping for a monumental moment between my William and Julia (Murdoch Mysteries) to untie the knots in my stomach, just for a moment!

D :-)
