Those other ships

Sometimes the show’s team of writers, creators (torturers?), will come up with a sub-ship, or background-ship.  This is a relationship between two supporting characters in a tv show.  These are the guys who are constantly nervous cos they know, as soon as a huge dramatic episode is needed, it could be their ass on the line, as they are always the first to either be shipped off, killed off or turned into a serial killer apprentice!
So, here are some of the ‘background-ships’:
Angela and Hodgins in Bones.  Meh… to be honest, I don’t really care about this relationship.  Personally I just don’t see any chemistry.  I LOVE Angela and have so-so feelings for Hodgins, but I kind of preferred her with Wendall.  But, that’s just me.

Lanie and Esposito in Castle, or as Castle himself called them, “Esplainie”, cos they always explaining things.  These two I like!  Which is why the ‘someone dies’ spoilers going around now are really making me nervous!  But aren’t they cute?  One of my favourite moments between these two is when Lanie calls Esposito “Baby” at a crime scene in episode 16 of season 3.  And when they call her on it, she does not cringe or give herself a forehead slap, she just says, “Oooh, did I?”
Who else do we have?  Oh, yes, another background-ship that I really like is Will and Emma from Glee (yes, I watch it!) And, yes I know, not technically a background-ship, or is it?  Don't know - I'm putting in here anyway. Although I was not too upset when they set Emma up with yummy John Stamos!  I like me some Stamos now and then, and he was really sweet in the show.  However, getting her back with Will means maybe getting another look at Will’s abs!  Or, they could just forget that ship and have Will develop an allergy to shirts, thereby giving him a reason to spend every scene in every episode shirtless!  See, I am willing to compromise!
I also loved the Sam and Emma sub-ship in The Young Riders!  I love how they used that for a bit of fun, and the scenes between those two were always guaranteed to bring a laugh!  Of course they got shipped right off the show at the end of the first season.  WTF?!?

And finally, there seems to be a ship coming in for George in Murdoch Mysteries!  Now this one I am really shipping hard – simply because there are spoilers out there claiming that there will be a wedding at the end of the season!  I really want this wedding to be between George and whatshername!  Don’t actually care who he marries, he can marry the fucking dog from the first episode for all I care – as long as the wedding is NOT between Julia and Dr. Wildebeest!
